Family Day

Last Sunday followed the week that Dave was gone & in CA. I thought it would be nice to have a family day. We hadn't had one in awhile and we sure needed it after that long week. Since the weather was going to be gorgeous & we had a free pass we chose to go to the Nashville Zoo. Even if some of the animals weren't out b/c it was technically still winter we figured we could still see the ones that were there, enjoy the sunshine & fresh air and let the kids go crazy on the jungle gym. So we packed up some water bottles & off we went!
(I also wrote about this trip in my entry entitled "Perfect Day".)

It was in the high 60's that day. I kept remarking to Dave, "It's FEBRUARY!!!!!" Hard for us northerners to get used to!

The merekats were all out enjoying the sunshine. A few were sunbathing on rocks & this one was enjoying his view from a plant.

Bugs choose Boo as his "hold a hand" companion for the day.

Off to explore!

Isn't he neat?

I have never seen a pattern like this before!

Grannie has been asking for another group shot of the kids so we found a rock and Wha-la!
Here ya go, Grannie!

This bird amazing! I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

Clouded Leopard ~ One of our favorites

Elvis loves his big sister.

Love those smiles!

My Big Boy

This time the kids visited the Petting Zoo.
I didn't go in but watched from the outside.

This was neat to run into on our way to the jungle gym. The colors on this bird were amazingly striking!

We let the kids play on the jungle gym for the last 1/2 hour or more. They love this thing and it is HUGE!
We got ice cream cones at McD's on our way home as a little treat. It was the perfect outing and we all left with smiles on our faces.
