We are thanking God for keeping our family safe today. If you haven't heard yet several tornadoes touched down in Tennessee today. Two of the tornadoes touched down in our town. One was only miles away from our home. Seeing the devastation it almost seems unreal but unfortunately I know it's very real.
I have to admit it was scary. Once the second tornado was announced on the radio it went from routine to very real. As we sat in the dark in the bathroom we heard local streets being named. These streets were where the tornado had touched down. That was the point in where it became very serious. All 8 of us - Mom, Tim, Sweet Pea, Elvis, Boo Bear, Bug-a-Boo, Princess & I - huddled in the bathroom together. Poor Elvis was crying he was so scared & Sweet Pea was having a slight panic attack. Mom, Tim & I tried our best to distract & comfort the younger ones. And of course we all prayed. Dave called from work frightened when he couldn't reach us with his first few phone calls. Imagine his relief when he finally got through and heard we were all right and in our safe spot in the house.
We are still thanking God tonight for His safe keeping. And we are praying for those who have lost their homes and are injured. It has been a day we will never forget.
