Psalm 127:3-5

Thank you, dear Lord for these precious blessings.
I cannot imagine life without them. Nor do I want to.

P is for...............

P lanning. Now that the P ortfolios are done I've been very busy planning for the upcoming school year. Here's proof! Lol!


P is for Pool

The beginning of the summer has been hotter than..........well, you know. I saw this pool on sale at Big Lots and Dave agreed that we could buy it. It wasn't really in the budget but it's been worth every penny watching the children enjoy themselves. Plus it's a good motivator to get chores done. Lol! Yep, I'm always in Mommy-mode. Dave had to put a bit of sand down to even out the ground and after a trip to Home Depot and some work he was ready to fill up the pool. The children helped him by holding up the pool while it filled with water. Dave wasn't exactly in the best of moods so I spied from my safe spot upstairs. Lol! Here are some pics I took from the upstairs bathroom window.

The children are thinking, "This is super exciting!" While Daddy is thinking, "Will this thing ever fill up?"

I call this one "Mr. Impatient". For some reason Dave was not amused by this title. *wink*

The children were such wonderful helpers. I was proud of them! Bugs is cheering them on from the sidelines. Daddy cheered up later. *grin*

It cracked me up how intent he was on his popcorn & movie. He doesn't watch a lot of t.v. but he was completely into what was on the screen that afternoon.

Rough Week

I have much more to post but it's after 1a.m. already. How time flies! It's been a rough week this past week. I'm glad it's over. My anxiety level has been high as has Dave's. I think there is the usual too much to do, too little time. Too little money, too much to do. You know what I'm talking about. Sometimes I feel like I'm hanging onto sanity by my fingernails. Just barely.
But....... tomorrow is SATURDAY!!!!!!! And I am going to yard sales in the morning! How can I be depressed with that to look forward to? **BIG GRIN** Sweet dreams tonight!

Children's Day

Last Sunday was Children's Day at our church. To celebrate our Puppet Team gave a performance. The first part was a cute little skit. There were no words to the skit, only music. First this happy music plays. A little lightbulb puppet comes out dancing around. He gets a hold of his electric cord and is looking all over for a place to plug it in. After a bit a big spotlight comes along and shines on him. He sees the electric power outlet and plugs himself into that. Now the lightbulb lights up with the light of the lamp (aka The Son). He's all happy. All of the sudden dramatic music starts. Someone has come to lead the Lightbulb (LB) astray. He beckons with his red hand and flashing lights. The Lightbulb follows in a trance-like state. The evil one unplugs the Lightbulb and he goes dark. He then gives LB a giant, heavy battery to lug around. It lights LB up but weighs him down. He carries this burden around. Suddenly he notices the light again. He plugs himself back into the light and lays his burden down at the cross. He is free! **It was an amazing little skit.

After that skit the puppets all performed a song about racing to Heaven. It was very jazzy and cute. Sweet Pea operated the girl puppet.

The whole performance was very well done. I was so proud!

I tried to get more pics but the puppets kept moving. Clouds popped up and down as well as other props. The puppets also "drove" down from the top to the bottom. Silly puppets. Didn't they see I was trying to take photos? Did they think they were in a show or something?









Strawberries!

It's one of my favorite times of the year - Strawberry Season! This year because our Saturday was crazy busy Dave took Boo & E-boy while I stayed home and took a nap with Bugs. Sweet Pea stayed home to help. Sounds fair, doesn't it? *wink, wink* They had a great time and brought home gorgeous berries. They even made a repeat trip on Sunday for more. Yum-O!

The End.
The end of the soccer season that is. Last Saturday Boo finished up her season. Only 2 players from the other team showed up so our coach ended up coaching both sides and giving the other team some of our players. The neat part is that all the kids got to play the entire game. I'm sad because their coach won't be back in the fall. She is going to be with her girls on their travel teams. She is a great coach. We will miss her.

"You don't know what you've got until it's gone" I've heard. So true. Tonight hubby came upstairs to announce that our downstairs toilet flushes again! Hallelujah! Not sure the why or what of it but I don't need to. I only need to Happy Dance that we're back in business. I'll think I'll go do a 'victory flush'.

Suspect at Large

Here is our suspect. Cute, isn't he? What is he suspected of you ask? Toilet clogging. Yep. That's right. We believe he was the mastermind. We also believe he is the one who carried out the plan with no help from others. He is a smart little guy indeed. We are still unsure as to his motive. Be careful friends, your bathroom may be next.



With a face like this he is easily forgiven.


Whatever it is it's stuck and won't budge!


Daddy tries the wet vac but alas ........no success.

He's tried the snake, the vacuum, reaching down there, taking the toilet off of the floor.........nothing works. We may have to buy a new potty. It's cheaper than a plumber. Anyone need a planter?

Sad Night for Sweet Pea



It's a sad night for Sweet Pea. She came out of her room tonight sobbing. She found her remaining minnows and they were all dead. We think the kittens got them. She & Daddy buried them in the backyard. Good-bye Fidgel, Midgel & Zidgel. Sweet Pea loves you and misses you already.

LAKE DAY!

Yesterday we went to the lake. It's only a 10 minute drive at the most so it's a perfect destination. We were to meet our homeschool group there but many could not make it. We decided to go ourselves. One friend did come with her little girl and my friend Terry came as well with all her children. We were so happy to have company! We would have been okay on our own but it was FAR more fun with friends to play & chat with. Thanks Terry & Christine!

Those swimming lessons paid off! He has no fear of the water this year. Yay!

It was a wonderful morning. We all had fun, got out of the house and Bugs took a 2-hour nap after all that fresh air and exercise! Maybe we should go more often! LOL!

Learning is F-U-N!

I recently bought a new handwriting program to use with E-boy & Boo. It has different levels and is multi-sensory. On Sunday E-boy & I had some time alone while the other children were out with Daddy. We took the wood pieces out and completed the first lesson which is to become familiar with the pieces. E-boy really enjoyed this. He made all sorts of shapes and letters. He chattered on to me about the sounds the letters make and words that begin with those sounds. When Boo came home she helped make a couple creations too. We are going to LOVE this program!
