It's a sad night for Sweet Pea. She came out of her room tonight sobbing. She found her remaining minnows and they were all dead. We think the kittens got them. She & Daddy buried them in the backyard. Good-bye Fidgel, Midgel & Zidgel. Sweet Pea loves you and misses you already.

Our daughters like animals. We've let them get pets. We've gone through several fish. Then we got two rats, who died old. Next we got two parakeets, who died young. Now we are looking at getting a corn snake.
One of the neat things about pets is children get exposure to a full life cycle. I was 19 or 20 before any human I really knew died.
It is rough on children when a pet dies, but it is a good growing experience.
