Party Time!
Boo's birthday was a great day. She ended up choosing to skip soccer practice & have more time at home. She had her favorite meal, (a birthday tradition), chocolate cake & ice cream and lots of presents. My favorite part was when she said grace and said, "Thank you, God for the best family I could ever ask for". Wow.
Boo wanted to open a small present before Daddy came home. She was happy with her new light-up Ariel pen.
Her special birthday meal! The restaurant gave her the special straws & umbrella when they found out it was her birthday.

October 7, 2004 ~ Remembering
I had planned on posting about our weekend tonight but instead am having a rough time. It hit me today in the middle of church that this is the date we lost Rose. Everything came flooding back to me all at once. You'd think that since it's been 3 years now I wouldn't hurt so badly. But it does hurt. There will always be a hole in our family where my baby should be. My arms always longing to hold her just once.
I have been wondering all week why whenever I saw October 7th in print or heard someone mention it I felt like I was forgetting something. Missing something. But instead of figuring out why I shoved the feelings aside. Now I know. Giving myself permission to remember.
Yesterday I found this beautiful angel figurine at a yard sale and at first glance I knew I had to have it. It was there waiting for me. You see, every year I buy an angel in memory of our little Rose Marie. Usually it's at Christmastime but this one showed up without me seeking it out. It's hard to say why it struck me but I knew this was the one. So I bought it early this year. Maybe it was God's way of giving me something special to hold this weekend letting me know He hasn't forgotten her either. In fact, she's with Him right now waiting for me & her Daddy. I love you Baby Girl. Please don't worry. We haven't forgotten. You have a special place in my heart forever & always.

Where Am I?
Sorry for the short posts the last few days. Yesterday I spent a lot of time on the phone and online talking with family & friends about all that is happening. It helped a lot. We are awesomely blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. Today we had friends over for a morning play date and to make plans for a Christmas Craft Day. It was a great morning & just what I needed after a rough morning. (Just the normal struggles. ~ *Grin*) I'm excited about the craft day. I think the hardest part now will be choosing from all the neat crafts we found. Amy did something I want to copy. She had ideas that she had clipped from magazines and other places and had them all in a folder. Great idea! Simple but something I've never done. What a help to have them all in one place.
Thanks again, Amy & kids for the fun morning!
I hope to get back to my blog & catching up this weekend. Tomorrow is busy but maybe Sunday? I'm finding it hard to stay inside & in front of the computer with all that is going on and this gorgeous weather!

Sad News
We found out today that Dave will be laid-off at the end of the year. He is not the only one by far. We are thankful that Dave will have about 2.5 months before it actually takes place. Though this is a time of uncertainty we know God is in control. It's strange because even though I have questions & concerns I still have an underlying peace. I'm grateful for this.
A neat little note.........though we've tried to shield the kids from this Sweet Pea knows what is going on. I swear that girl has super human hearing. Lol. She came to me today & told me that we could sell some of her toys that she doesn't play with much anymore to help out. How sweet was that?

Missing My Baby
My baby is at Nana's. It was Boo's turn for a visit so she rode up with Grannie & Tim this afternoon. She'll stay a little longer than they will to have some special one-on-one time with Nana. It's a perfect mix. Time with Grannie & Tim and then alone time with Nana.
I'll miss her, already do, but know that she is going to have a great time. It's neat that her time comes right after her birthday & right near Nana's. Makes it extra special, ya know?

Bug-a-Boo's Birthday ~ Part 1
As you probably know by now Friday was Bugs' birthday. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast. He is talking constantly now saying new words all the time. It is such a thrill to hear him name different things all around him & people too. The other night he went around the table naming all of us. We didn't tell him to, he only wanted to I guess. He is also parroting us. Cracks me up! He has such a cute, little voice too.
On Friday Dave came home a bit early. We took some time for naps since most of us are once again struggling with colds & coughs. Then in a spur of the moment idea I suggested to Dave that we whisk the kids over to the park. First we stopped at the Dollar Store b/c I simply had to get my little Bug-a-Boo a special birthday balloon. We got to the park and had a blast. We ran around with the kiddos and laughed & played. We all played until it got so dark we could hardly see a couple of feet in front of us. Lol! Dave kept saying what a great idea it was. We then stopped in at BK for take-out & then to the grocery store for an ice cream cake & a few things for Bug's b-day party Sat. night. Once we got home we had dinner & then did presents while we waited for the cake to thaw a bit. We all really enjoyed watching Bugs with his new presents. The other kids were great. They were only happy & excited for their brother. There was no jealousy whatsoever. E-boy especially makes me smile. He loves a good birthday and that's that! Hee, hee. He doesn't care if he is the birthday boy or not he is only happy to be there to celebrate. Lol! It also warms my heart to watch the children give gifts to each other. They have either bought or made them on their own. Often they are always rushing off to their room to find just one more present to give their sibling. It is often one of their own treasures that they choose to give away. They get caught up in the joy of giving & I love that!

Bugs & his special birthday balloon.
Bugs loves, loves, LOVES the slides!
There he goes!
Here he is on yet another slide. Lol!
He amazes me on how well he walks the jiggly, swinging bridge.
Boo loves this thing. No fear.
.E-boy on the see saw...but he wasn't alone for long!
Yes, we are nuts.
This was hilarious!
Poor Bugs. We waited & waited & waited. So much for "fast food". Ha, ha.
Normally I NEVER allow my children to do such things but E-boy scrambled up there quicker than a squirrel. I commanded him to get down but then couldn't resist a quick picture. Bad Mommy.
Of course Bugs had to do what big brother did. The soda was arranged like a throne with steps leading up. Don't worry this was a one time event.
Bugs couldn't wait & I couldn't blame him as it was way past supper time.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOO BEAR!
It's Boo's birthday! She is growing up so fast. Sometimes I wish I could hang on to the days a little longer. Until I became a parent I never realized how quickly the days, months, even years go by.
Boo is very excited as you can well imagine. We're going to have her favorite dinner & chocolate birthday cake. Oh boy! She will have a friends party later on. I'm not sure the exact date right now but the planning is in the works.

Here are just a few of my favorite pictures of Boo.
A few minutes after her birth.
Thank you, God for giving us this little girl to love & raise.
Updates
In case some of you were wondering.............................
..............we still haven't heard anything about Dave's job. They were supposed to find out Friday but then were told the announcement would come "early next week". I'll let you know when we find out anything. I have to admit the waiting is the hardest part. We know God is in control no matter what decision is made but the waiting is tough. Ah!
Our court stuff went the same. D didn't show up.......again. Nothing was done. We are still in the same place as before. It's frustrating. But again, God is in control. I don't know what the future holds but we are placing this in His hands all over again.
Thank you everyone for your emails & prayers! We love you for them!

Baking Day
We ended up missing the Horse Care class because Bugs & I weren't feeling well. Plus the bigger kids had not done their chores so it was good that we stayed home as it gave them the extra time to work & Bugs and I a chance to nap.
This afternoon I stayed home with the girls as they were STILL finishing their chores.(I'm really struggling with them in this area. Seems the kids will NOT get there chores done or pick up after themselves. Grrr.......) Dave took E-boy to soccer. After that we went to our meeting with our new piano teacher. We all really liked her & I'm looking forward to the girls' first lesson.
Today was baking day for me. I made 7 loaves of zucchini bread. I like to make big loaves b/c my whole family LOVES this bread. I also made 2 dozen blueberry muffins using some of the blueberries we picked this summer. Everything turned out delicious. Dave came home to all the wonderful smells. He couldn't resist and had 1.........2.................3 slices of bread. Lol. I was glad that he enjoyed this special treat.
