My Mom bought the kids a trampoline for Christmas. Dave & I had been wanting to get them one but couldn't swing both that & individual Christmas gifts. When my Mom asked for suggestions for Christmas I brought this up. It was a win-win situation. Divided up it came out to the amount she wanted to spend per child. That was with the fantastic price I found it for at Walmart's Black Friday sale. With some diligent waiting, an overnight stay, some strategic planning & help from friends who staked out our "claim" we successfully brought it home!
Dave & Boo set it up yesterday afternoon. The kids are loving the fun it brings & I love that they are getting some of that pent up cabin fever energy out. So much better than constant video games! Hooray!
In the spirit of trying to get back on the healthy track again I suggested a family walk. Everyone was eager to go. The weather has been beautiful here. Sky Walker tried to follow us so Sweet Pea ended up making a run back to the house to lock him inside. Crazy cat.
Yep, that's me. No make-up, no hair doo but ready to walk with my Princess. Princess loves the outdoors.
Truck'in through the neighborhood.
This horse-like dog greeted us as we walked around the cul-de-sac.
Bugs found a peach on the ground!
Long legs, short legs.
Last night Sweet Pea, Princess & I walked again while the others were at soccer. Hopefully this will become a healthy habit.
We have been incredibly blessed with gorgeous weather. After the bit of rain we received Wednesday night things began popping up and growing all over the yard. I can hardly wait until the threat of a frost is past and we can plant the garden.
Being outside is also a great time to get some exercise. After being in the house so long it feels great to get out and run around, bike, walk, etc. Sweet Pea is working hard on her exercise schedule. On Thursday she ran sprints in the yard as part of her routine. Bugs enjoyed running with her and calling out, "On your mark.......get set..........GO!" For some fun motivation at the end Daddy raced her. To make it more even he first raced carrying Bugs & then carrying Elvis. What a riot to watch!

She's Winning!
Dave's facial expression was priceless. He raced along even after Elvis pulled his hat down over Daddy's eyes. LOL!
Perfect!
This weather has been perfect for hanging out laundry. I LOVE our huge laundry line.
Strawberries Have Returned
Dave planted a strawberry patch last year & the plants are coming back! Yay!
SPRING IS EVERYWHERE!
Surprise!
I planted these bulbs last year after Easter. They were from plants we bought at the store. When the plant died I planted the bulbs. I am so happy they survived!
I've been trying hard to exercise more this year as I want to lose a few pounds. Well, actually more than a few but we all have to start somewhere, right? I am not a big fan of exercise by itself. I love nature waking, swimming & gardening. Even playing some games outside is fun. But exercising just for it's own sake has always been tough for me. In mid-Feb. my Mom got me a membership to Butterfly Life. I love it! It is truly a workout. The owner is there all the time and she is nice, knowledgeable, and understanding. My present goal is to get there 3 times a week. I was almost there but then I kept getting sick. This year has been terrible for that! Anyway, I am building back up again. I have already been twice this week and plan to go either tomorrow night or Saturday morning. How about you? Have you set any exercise goals for yourself or have you already reached them? I'd love to hear what you are doing to get/stay healthy.
The weather has been fantastic this week! We went for a 2-mile walk on a popular walking/biking trail near home. The kids love that they can ride their scooters and bikes. Even Bugs was allowed to run free at the end of our walk when there were less people around. The exercise is good for all of us too. We are enjoying being outside again. The next few days are supposed to be rainy which means we will now appreciate the time we've had outdoors in the sunshine even more.
There was some leftover snow in a shady area.

Sweet Pea asked if I wanted to ride her bike. At first I refused but then thought to myself, "Why not amuse the children?" So off I went!

After 20 or more attempts at a photo I was bushed. My legs are feeling the pain today!
Big Sister
Since I had her bike Sweet Pea helped out Bugs. Here she is helping him "ride" her scooter. He wants to be a big kid so badly!
