Recently we had a family field trip day. I love these days even more than the regular field trips b/c Dave joins us. Our day started off iffy since the weather was unpredictable. We were afraid the roads might be icy so Dave took a trial run before we set out. Thankfully the roads were clear. The day itself was gray & cold but that didn't stop us. We packed up, piled in & headed out. It took us about 2 hours to drive down to Chattanooga. Our first stop was the Tennessee Aquarium. We exited the elevator to find one of the employees putting away some legless lizards. She quickly offered to show them to us.
We had a long talk with her and learned a lot. We even got to touch it!
Next were the sting rays. Aren't these patterns & colors amazing?
The kids love the touch tanks. They were allowed to pet the sting rays & the small sharks. Here is Boo Bear touching a shark.
Adjacent to the touch tank area is the butterfly habitat. This is one of my favorites. The butterflies zoom all around and we get to see them up close.
