Savings for School

Another Sunday afternoon of Back-to-School deals. Boy, I love it. I really do! It gives me a sense of satisfaction to fill up our school closet for the year for so little.
First we stopped by Staples. I had all the kids with me today since Dave was working. I have to say they did very well in the store and were a huge help. Sweet Pea even purchased some folders & a memory stick of her own. This is what I bought. A 7-pack of Zebra Z-grip retractable ball point pens (A free treat!), two 2-pks. of Bic White-Out (Great stuff!), two 2-pks. of Sharpie pens (Love these!) & 25 folders (Use these ALL the time!). Normally these would have cost me over $22. With my rebate I will have spent only $1.75. Savings? = A little over $20.

Our next stop was Office Depot. At first I wasn't going to stop but our visit to Staples was so quick I figured why not. Here I only bought was what on sale. I was very pleased that even though they had run out of the white board markers they were breaking up large packs & putting them in two's to offer more to customers. Now THAT'S good customer service! So I bought 6 white board markers & 3 pencil sharpeners. This was the maximum limit of each. The total would have been $11.94. I spent only 78 cents. A savings of $11.16 Nice!

Our last stop was Walgreens. I tried a different store this time. Though the cashier was very nice & helpful not one thing was priced correctly with the sale prices. It was hard to know which were the sale items. Definitely a pain. I kept sending Sweet Pea up to the cashier to check product & prices for us. She is a great help. After a lot of time we got out of there with all of this. I am still pleased with the savings. But I will definitely be going back to my store down the street.

Regular price total = $32.67 I paid = $8.31 Savings = $24.36

In the end that's $66.61 of school supplies for only $10.84. Who says it doesn't pay to shop the sales? Not me! Lol! =0)

Let the Games Begin!

The Back-to-School sales have begun! YAY! Let the games begin! I went to Staples today as they had the most items on sale. I got all of this today. I found some added items I left out of my original photo and they are in the photo beneath the big one. They are all one purchase even though it's in two photos. Want to guess how much I paid?

Isn't this great? Okay, if you are wondering the total for all of this at the original prices would have been $115.98. That's not counting tax. Wow, eh? Now for what I paid. I paid $21.31. Yep. That's it. And that's not the best part. The computer copy paper is a rebate item. After the rebate it will only cost 25 cents a package. So after all is said & done I will have paid $9.83 our of pocket for all of these items. And that's including the 9.75% tax. =0)

WHOOT! WHOOT!

Dollar Deals

I posted my Target finds & some other school shopping deals on FaceBook but thought I'd post it here too. Most of the things I picked up were from their dollar bins. Boy are they a treasure trove!

I got some flashcards for myself, a friend & this great reference book on the 50 states.

My boys will LOVE these Lightening McQueen pencils.
The bingo game is for Bugsy.

More flashcards!
I bought 2 of the numbers cards as I want to use them as a matching game.

Fun workbooks to keep Bugsy busy

These are fantastic both as a workbook & a reference.

I LOVE these reference booklets!

The inside

I found these practice wipe mats. Saves on ink & paper too!

These are some of my favorite planners & for $1 too!

Cool stuff!

I got these at Hobby Lobby for 40% & 50% off. I plan to have the boys paint them for a fun art project. Elvis picked out the aliens & Bugsy selected the transportation set.

Some cool surprises for their first-day-of-school treasure hunt.

More for Bugsy.

These are FREE after rebate. Yahoo!

Mama needs some help too! =)

These were in the 75% clearence aisle at Target.
Every item was under $1.

Everything here was $1 or $1.50. Sweet!

I love back-to-school shopping!

Walgreens ~ Whoot! Whoot!

I got up early today to hit the Walgreens sale. I saved $110! I'm so stink'in excited! I love how my school supply closet is filling up. Sweet Pea said it's like a little store all on it's own. Lol! We have almost everything we need now and of course paid only a fraction of the regular prices. I am eager to get started on filling up the kids' backpacks for our annual "Back-to-School Treasure Hunt". But that will wait another week or two. I still need to go to the Dollar Tree anyway for a few special items for their backpacks. I do have a few but need a couple of things for the boys. Here are a few of the things I picked up at Walgreen's today:

19 cents
Legal Pads
10-pack pencils

29 cents
100 pack paper clips
6-pack Paper Mate highlighters
2-pack pink erasers
15-pack colored cap erasers
Flexible ruler (I like these b/c my kids can't break them as easily)

39 cents
70-pack colored index cards
100-pack ruled index cards

59 cents
8-pack mechanical pencils (My kids love these!)

I also picked up some clearance items for the girls. These will be some of the special items I put in their backpacks for the treasure hunt.

50 cents ~ Hannah Montana & Camp Rock folders

75 cents ~ Hannah Montana & Camp Rock notebooks
(I NEVER get these kinds of notebooks but I thought the girls would go wild and for this price. I did too. Lol!)

50 cents ~ Hannah Montana book cover
(Again, I never get these but figured it would be a fun treat.)

2/$1.00 ~ Mini-post its (S.P. needs these for her Tutorial classes this year & I thought they'd be great for my planning.)

A lot of these things I bought today Sweet Pea needs for her Tutorial classes. I am thrilled to have found them at such a bargain and all in one place!
