"Tank Ewe, Fireman, Guy!"

On Tuesday we went to one of our local fire stations. One of the mom's from our homeschool group set up a field trip for us. (Thank you, Amy!) My kids all had a fantastic time. In my group my boys were the most dazzled. I don't think Bugs has ever stood that still or been that facinated on a field trip before. E-boy was one of the first to volunteer whenever the chance arose. Boo was on the quiet side but enjoyed doing everything. Sweet Pea volunteered to take Bugs around which freed me up to take pics. That was very helpful indeed! We had a wonderful time. I don't think we've all been that relaxed on a field trip. The firemen were all very nice & informative. It was a great trip!

Soon after we arrived a fire truck returned to the station.

This gentleman was the first to speak to us & introduce us to the station.

All the kids got to climb in the fire truck & sit. Cool! Here's E-boy!

Boo's Turn!

Bug's sat down & acted like he was right at home.
He kept saying, "Tank ewe, fireman guy!" Too cute!

Listening to Fireman Rob

Pulling the Lever on the Hose

The Firemen were so kind & gentle with Bugsy.

Showing the Saw & Jaws of Life

Fireman Jim?
I can't remember if that was his name. He demonstrated the various pieces of equipment the firemen wear & why they are important.

Putting on His Mask
(These pics came out kind of dark as we were standing b/twn the fire trucks.)

Adding His Helmet
The kids were able to hear what he sounded like with all his equipment on. They practiced listening for him & calling loudly for help.

"Driving" the Fire Truck
You can see Boo if you look carefully to the right.

Little Fireman
Bugsy's head can barely be seen over the steering wheel. Lol.

Fireman Rob Demonstrates
He showed the kids how much power it takes to open the chute for the fire pole.

Having a Blast!
E-boy was in little boy heaven when he found out the firemen know the Rescue Heroes!

5 Firemen
Five of the firemen slid down the pole to demonstrate. I have the demo on video and will try to post it on here later.

In Awe
The children all watched in awe as the firemen came shooting down the pole.

Firemen Fans

Bugs thought it was pretty cool to sit on this fire truck.

Play Date
After our field trip we went over to Amy's house for lunch & to play.

Lots of Fun!
The kids had a terrific time playing. (Don't worry we helped clean up. :) )

Thank you, Amy, N., R., & B for a fantastic time!

Porch Closet

There is more cleaning going on here. I asked Dave & the girls to work on our porch closet on Monday night. I keep organizing it and then it is trashed. So this time THEYreorganized it. We keep 95% of our school supplies & resources in here plus some storage. It is an awesome storage space!

Hard at Work

The boys LOVE the show Handy Manny. Lately Bugs has been carrying a toy hammer with him almost everywhere he goes. They both know all the characters and the songs. Dave & I like the show too as it teaches how to be a friend & a help to others.

When we were working on our decorating the other night E-boy was bored. He kept getting upset over little things. Dave had his measuring tape with him and came up with a fantastic idea. He gave it to E-boy and very seriously told him that Daddy needed his help. He asked him to measure specific things in the living room. E-boy took on the challenge and was soon zooming around measuring different items & reporting the measurements. Not only did this keep him busy & happy but it was educational too. Soon Bugs joined in and was copying his big brother. I think 2 boys will find measuring tapes in their Easter baskets this year!

Carefully measuring the window.

Memory Lane

I took a little trip down Memory Lane the other night. We hung some family photos up in our home & it was neat to remember when the kids were babies & toddlers. It is true that time flies by.

Family of Four
I can't believe how young Dave & I look in this picture. It's hard to remember the days when there were only 4 of us. I always loved dressing the girls up.

Dave hanging the children's baby pictures.

All done!
Can you guess who is who?

I finally hung a picture that I bought last spring!

A New Look
Dave put a fresh coat of paint on the bathroom walls (leftover from last owners) & I added two pictures - one from a yard sale & the other from Home Goods clearance. They look great!

More Family Photos
If you haven't already guessed I LOVE to be surrounded by family photos!

Lasagna!

This kid cracks me up. He LOVES to eat and nothing slows him down when he's in "the mode". Lol!

Lasagna!

She's eating her salad like a good girl. *grin*

SALAD!

Doesn't he look like a rabbit? Lol!

Color!

Here they are! My pics with my new color. It actually is a bit lighter than this but it gives you an idea of the color. The 2nd color shows a bit more of the red in it.
Next on the list is a new doo! Suggestions?

Promise

I promise to post a pic of my hair today. It turned out kind of a strawberry blond. First I have to do some school with the kiddos as we have swimming this afternoon! Sorry to keep you waiting. :)

Marinating

I'm long overdue for a coloring of my hair. I haven't colored it since before I went to Florida. I have a nice-sized streak of gray on my right temple that I detest. I kept forgetting to pick up a box of color but finally remembered yesterday. So now I am sitting here marinating as I type. I sure hope this covers that stubbron gray! I am not ready to look so old! I do not carry it off well & with my tired face and dark circles under my eyes.......well it's not a pretty picture. E-boy was sweet as when I was applying the color he declared, "I can't wait to see your new hair!"

Go away gray!

Youth in a Bottle
I went a shade lighter this time. I hope it wasn't a mistake! At least Dave can't get upset b/c HE helped me choose the color. Lol. :)

Pirates! Arrrr!

E-boy LOVES the pirate sticker & activity book we bought yesterday. I may have to make a quick trip and pick up another one! There were 4 different books. I love watching his concentration as he completes the activities & his imagination as he plans out the sticker scenes. Here are a few pics of him enjoying his new book.

The last 2 are my favorites.
