Award Night!

I was looking through my pics and realized I had never posted these! I wanted to make certain I did because it was such an important night for us. It was the night that the kids were given their trophies for soccer. None of the children have ever received a trophy before making it extra special. (They received medals at their previous soccer program.) Excitement was through the roof as the kids waited for us to set out for the YMCA. They had a neat set up with games, a bouncy slide (indoors!), basketball, a bouncy house (inside), a climbing wall outside, swimming & pizza. They had a little award ceremony for each team. We went through 3 ceremonies at 3 different time slots. It was kind of comical as we'd get done, hang around for about 10-20 min. and then turn right back around and attend the next ceremony.

Elvis tried the climbing wall for the first time. He had a little trouble getting started but wouldn't give up. Once he got the rhythm he took off.

Shall we call him, "Spiderman"?

After all the ceremonies and some pizza it was time to hit the pool!

First of the Season

Our first soccer games of the season finally arrived. It was a hot & sunny day. God kept the rain away and we were thankful. The kids were ready & waiting to load up in the van and be on our way. There were games to be played!

Lining up to warm up before the game

One of my favorite things is that the teams pray together before the game begins.

Elvis in action

Boo's game started about halfway into Elvis'.
The nice part is that the fields were side-by-side so we didn't have to miss either game.

Get 'em Boo!

His turn to be goalie & Mommy's turn to have a heart attack. Lol!

Cheering from the sidelines

Lastly it was Bugsy's turn to play.

The littles were a hoot. They all ran in a pack most of them not really knowing what was going on. One or two would manage to kick the ball in the goal. Sometimes it was the right goal and sometimes not. They didn't seem to mind as long as it went in. Hee, hee!

Bugsy's cleat came untied & the ref was so sweet.
She stopped & helped him right on the spot.

Chugging along
It was hot!

Hamming it up for Mommy.

He had a great time.
All the children have fantastic coaches. They all love playing & have made friends. We are looking forward to more games and cheering them on.

Our local YMCA had a week of free soccer camp. We were blessed that another in our homeschool group let us know about it. The kids have been missing playing soccer. We skipped last fall & the past 2 springs because of our move. They were thrilled to be back on the field running drills & shooting goals. Even though it was very hot & humid it did not slow them down one bit.

Dave & I volunteered at the camp to work at the registration table. It was crazy the first day but kind of fun. We got to meet a lot of people and help out. It felt good to be able to give back.

We were even blessed to find some used cleats in Boo's size for only $3.99! The kids all received new shin guards from Mommy & Daddy as they were the same price as the used with the coupon I found online. The boys both inherited cleats from the girls early soccer years. It made Dave & I smile to see how happy they were with their new-to-them cleats.

A new friend.
I went over to take pics of Boo & of course that was when they took a long break. They finally started up again playing a game of tag with the soccer ball. Here she is with a new friend having a great time.

I love his facial expression.

Running drills

The two teams were racing to see who could go up & back the fastest.

Bugs just loved his first soccer experience. He was extremely happy to be included in the camp just like the big kids.

Ready, Aim, Fire!
We really enjoyed soccer camp & are very thankful to the YMCA for giving us the opportunity to particpate.
