Spring Surprise

I was under the impression that these were annuals. So when the cold freeze hit last winter I concluded they were gone. Suddenly with this warm weather they are back again! What a beautiful, spring surprise! They make me smile every time I go into my backyard. Thank you, Lord!

Surprise for Boo Bear

Tonight was a fun night. We gave Boo Bear her big Christmas present early. There was just no way to hide it. Lol! Dave drove to Nashville with the boys to pick it up.

A new-to-her desk!

Boo loves to draw & likes to do her schoolwork in her room sometimes so I hoped she'd like it. I've been scouring Craig's List for weeks looking for a real wood one with lots of drawers.

It has 2 deep drawers & 5 other drawers. I love the large work surface & that it is solid wood & very sturdy. It needs a bit of touching up but we don't mind that at all. I am thrilled because it is exactly what I have been looking for & wishing for. We got a fantastic deal & I know it's a piece that will last her a long, long time. My childhood desk is similar and it's in fantastic condition. Sweet Pea has it in her room. It's an answer to prayer.

What was super sweet was the way Boo kept hugging Dave & I. She told us she has wanted a real desk but didn't want to ask us because she knew they were expensive. What a sweetheart. It makes all the hours of searching & the driving to Nashville to pick it up worth it to see her beautiful smile & thankfulness.

While my parents where here visiting my Mom noticed our dishwasher wasn't working right. Amount other things the dishes on the top rack weren't getting washed. The dishwasher is as old as the house, (house built in 1987), so it wasn't really a surprise. But we didn't have the $ for a new one and were just using this one until it quit. We figured it was better than none, right? Well, one morning Mom had a huge surprise for us. She had gone online and selected a brand new dishwasher for us! And she wanted me to go down to Sears with her to order it. I was speechless. What a gift! And a surprise! We did and it was delivered the following Monday. Mom was able to see it and even use it while she was here. I absolutely LOVE it and am so very thankful. Mom said it's my birthday, Christmas, anniversary, Ground Hog Day, etc. etc. gift and that's fine with me. Thank you, Mom!

Sweet Pea, whose job it is to load & unload our new friend, says she doesn't even mind doing this chore anymore. Even declared, "I love it, Mom!" Now how's THAT for a great gift?

Oh Boy! Oh Boy!

I am super excited to share with you the primary gift we bought for the grandparents! And it's frugal too! Problem is one set of grandparents reads this blog so I can't share now or I'll ruin the surprise. =( Oh, and in case you are wondering the others aren't boycotting me or anything. Lol. I'm sure they would read if they had a computer & Internet. =)

DAVE IS HOME!!!!!!!

He decided to surprise us and come home this weekend. I am beyond relieved and am ecstatic to have him here. This was on our dime but worth every single penny.
