New Adventures

We've been so busy that I forgot to tell you about a very exciting event here at home! Fuzzy Wuzzy came out of his cocoon! We weren't sure if he was dead or alive he had been in there so long. But one night Sweet Pea checked on him and he was out and crawling around his box. She had checked the day before and he was still inside so she must have just missed his hatching. It was fun to watch her set him free and see him get his first taste of the great outdoors in his "new duds".

We ended up putting him into the flower garden in a protected area. That way he could rest up until he was ready to fly.

Fuzzy's Cocoon

Did I tell you we found Fuzzy? Well actually Tucker found Fuzzy a couple of weeks ago. Elvis found Tucker batting Fuzzy around and alerted us. Whew! I was amazed he was still alive! Sweet Pea put him back in his comfy box. This week he has started to spin a cocoon. Neat! Here are a couple of photos.

Fuzzy Wuzzy has escaped! Sweet Pea let him out for "some exercise" (her words) & he disappeared. I have an inkling that she left him longer than she has admitted to. It's comparable to having a turtle disappear in 2 seconds. Not possible, I'm thinking.

So, if you happen to see Fuzzy W. in your neck of the woods please tell him he is missed. =(
