Goodwill

Every first Saturday of the month our Goodwill sells everything in the store for half price. We dropped in after soccer this month. In addition to a bunch of fall clothes & a winter jacket for Elvis we found these fun treasures. None cost over $1 & most were 45 cents - 75 cents each.

Princess loves these!

Thomas is a welcome friend in our home.

Classics
A sports movie for Davey & a musical for me.

DVD
The kids love the one we bought & took on our trip.
Can't beat 99 cents for a brand new DVD!

We have the first 2 in the "walk" series & I was thrilled to find #3.
Boo used to do yoga years ago for her sensory issues. I thought it might be fun to try again. No New Age garbage though. =)

These were a steal at 75 cents each!

Dover coloring books are amazing! Imagine my excitement at finding them in next to new condition for 45 cents each!

Usborne = 45 cents

Lots of learning here!

To use with Astronomy

Both in brand new condition

Some fun books the kids picked out.

This was my best find of the day!
Usually this is $12.99 & I got it for 75 cents! All the stickers are in brand new condition, no pages have been colored & it clearly sat on a shelf unused. Yay, for me! Actually yay for Bugsy as it will be a fabulous birthday present!

A sample of the stickers.

Back cover
I love successful treasure hunts!

Family Movie Nights

These seem to be very popular these days as our economy had nose dived & not made much if any recovery. We have always loved them. But now that we have Netflix they happen more often & are very economical. We like to either have a picnic dinner in the living room while watching or a special snack.

Being silly

Tinkerbelle!

Comfy Cozy

My Boo Bear

Princess loves to cruise around making everyone smile.

Finally out of steam Princess cuddles with Daddy & falls asleep.
Being with my little family is the greatest blessing.

Kung Fu Panda!

Here are the pics of the kids receiving their surprise Sunday night!

I let Bugs open up the present b/c he is the youngest.

They start to see their surprise..........

YAY!!!!!!! The movie they've been wanting to see!
Pixie stops in to see what's going on.

Elvis & I saw it in the theater this summer, (a rare treat), but the rest of the family had not seen it yet. They have been itching to see it and even more so once they saw it came out on DVD. We were going to rent it but then I saw it was going on sale on Black Friday. I figured it would be more frugal in the long run to buy it than to rent it - $5/rental, $9 for entire DVD - b/c I knew the kids would want to watch it more than once. After opening it up Dave, the kids & I all settled in with popcorn & blankets on the comfy, Family Room couch. Bugs fell asleep after awhile, (he had missed his nap earlier in the day), but everyone else LOVED the movie. It's a keeper! All the kids watched it again the next day. It was a great surprise!

Fun Friday Night

My Dad wanted to spend some time with the kids before he leaves on a 2-week business trip. Our city sponsors a free outdoor movie night and he thought it would be fun to go. I had planned for all 4 kids & I to join him but Bugsy ended up having a cranky day so I re-thought on my original plan. I figured it wouldn't be much fun for me to have to chase him all over the park while the movie played. I had the girls go with Grandpa instead & I stayed with the boys.

I wanted them to have a special night too so they wouldn't feel left out. Elvis & I ran down to Hollywood Video and low and behold what did we find in the bargain rentals but Transformers! Elvis' night was made right there & then! He didn't even have to see it as holding it in his hands was awesome enough. =)

Last but not least we popped next door to the Dollar Tree where I found three re-usable sticker books. Yahoo! Bugs has been getting into my expensive ones I have for school unit studies. This was the perfect solution! We were all happy to have a special night complete with a great movie, snacks & extra treats.

I hope they stock more of these sometime soon! The boys LOVE them!
The girls had a fantastic time with Grandpa. They loved all the snacks, the movie & most of all time with him.
