Block Party!
One of the local churches threw a block party in the city square. They said it was a way for them to give back to the community. I thought it was very sweet & generous. Everything but the food & carriage rides were FREE. Wow! There was a petting zoo, face painting, a clown making balloon animals, a fire engine & firefighters, several inflatables, live music, massages & give-a-ways.
The slide.
Boo took Princess for a few rides.

She couldn't get enough! We finally had to carry her away.
The boys liked petting the goats.
Boo fell in love.
Elvis' favorite was this little guy.
This firefighter was wonderful. He was super friendly & enthusiastic. He answered all the kid's questions & let them sit in the fire truck as long as they liked.

A Declaration
I am so proud of our little boy! Elvis has been asking us all summer to be baptised. We had wanted to be certain he was serious about it & understood it before talking to our children's pastor. Recently he asked us again & we decided it was time. On Sunday he had his big day. His day of declaration. Elvis was SO excited to let everyone know that he has accepted Jesus into his heart. He was counting down the days before & bouncing off the walls when Sunday finally arrived. He told anyone within earshot that he was being baptized! Dave went up to the baptismal with him while I stayed below in the sanctuary with our other children. These are the photos I took from below. Dave took some video from the top.
Since the baptismal is way up near the balcony they put Elvis & Mr. Mike up on the big screen for all to see.

AWANA Award Night
At the end of May our church's AWANA program wrapped up the year with an Awards Night. The kids had been eagerly anticipating this as they would earn more patches & ribbons. Sweet Pea had a End of the School Year Bash to attend for the middle school & high schoolers. The girls were all asked to bring a treat & the boys a drink. She made a spice cake from scratch.
