SPRING IS HERE!

Wow! It's been awhile since I posted last. Drat that Facebook! =) Lol. 

I wanted to share how our cold frames are doing.  I planted a day or 2 after they were constructed.  Onions, lettuce & flower seeds.  My lettuce is doing great, my onions are iffy and the flowers are coming along.   

Cold Frame #1 = Onions & lettuce.  Some have sprouted, some have not.

This lettuce is doing fantastic!  I can almost taste it!

I'm not sure why only one side of the pot is sprouting.  

A wee more in this one but still growing mostly in one area.

This is the start of my new herb garden. It is on the back side of the house.   I'm very excited about this project!

I hope it comes out as I have it pictured in my mind.

P-O-O-L!

Last week Dave set up the pool. Exciting does not even come close to describing the feeling in our house. I could have asked pretty much anything of the kids and they would have done it in order to have a chance at that pool. I know that will wear off as the summer goes by but in the meantime I'm using it! LOL! The kids whizzed through their chores even using teamwork! Wow-zah!

The boys worked as a team to get their chores completed. They celebrated with hugs and exclaims of, "You're the best brother ever!" Music to my ears!

Princess LOVED the water!

After swimming for awhile Sweet Pea took Princess inside. Bugs was done as well & ready to get warm. I asked Boo & Elvis to scrub the outside of the pool as it was pretty dirty from being stored all winter. They did a great job & were rewarded with another dip in the pool. This time I joined them. It was chilly but amazingly refreshing especially after working in the garden for an hour.

Princess was so tuckered she fell asleep before Sweet Pea could even get her out of her swimsuit.

The kids had a great time in the pool. Later that day I rewarded Sweet Pea with a free swim time alone in the pool since she had been such a great help with Princess.

Back on Track

In the spirit of trying to get back on the healthy track again I suggested a family walk. Everyone was eager to go. The weather has been beautiful here. Sky Walker tried to follow us so Sweet Pea ended up making a run back to the house to lock him inside. Crazy cat.


Yep, that's me. No make-up, no hair doo but ready to walk with my Princess. Princess loves the outdoors.

Last night Sweet Pea, Princess & I walked again while the others were at soccer. Hopefully this will become a healthy habit.

A Little Sightseeing

We took a little trip into Nashville on Saturday. Here are a few pics I took from our little sightseeing trip in the van.

Friends

Last week we visited the lake with friends. It was glorious to get outside in the sunshine after all that rain. We couldn't stay too long b/c of VBS starting that night but we had a wonderful time nonetheless. Thank you, Julie & kids!

It's wonderful having Dave home for the weekend. We had a relaxed afternoon on Saturday before our lake expedition. =) (See post below.) Dave took the kids outside for some playtime. The boys tossed around their new footballs, ($1 at KB Toys!), and Boo Bear rode her bike. I love watching them play with their Daddy.

Sunshine at Last!

Yesterday was the first day in quite awhile that we have had a day with zero storms. It was sunny & warm but not humid. We were itching to get outside and enjoy it so we hurried up with our errands and our indoor chores & headed to the back yard. The pool needed to be emptied as someone had dumped sand in it. In order to vacuum it out the water had to be dumped. The kids didn't mind helping out with that. They gathered up buckets and were soon bailing out the pool. Soon it turned into soaking each other. Lol! Once the water was out Sweet Pea set to wet vacuuming out the sand. The younger children played in the yard and I did chores in and outside. It was a great afternoon!
