SPECIAL MOMENTS

A few months ago I started reading at bedtime with the boys. Then Dave's schedule eased up and he was able to read with them. Usually he does a devotion with them & then reads a chapter or two from a chosen book. It's a wonderful time for them to share special time as Daddy is gone all day. Right now they are reading a book about David Livingstone. The book was a little slow to start and the boys weren't interested very much. But now their patience has paid off. They are now in the exciting part of the book and look forward to it every night. In fact last night Dave & I were talking while the boys were brushing their teeth & getting in jammies. Quietly Elvis comes in the room holding the book. A quick, "I'll be right there, son" and he went to his room to wait. A couple minutes later Bugs was there and slipped the book down by Daddy. It cracked me up. Two boys who weren't that into it now can hardly wait until bedtime to see what happens next! I love it!
On an African exploration with David Livingstone.

The book that has captured their attention.

More!  More, please!

Big Brother, Little Brother

Elvis asked me if he could read their Zoology lesson to Bugsy. Who am I to say no? There are SO many benefits to this including giving Mama some time. Hooray to Apologia for making science so interesting & easy to read! And hooray to Elvis my science guy for sharing his love of God's Creation!

Elvis reads aloud as Bugsy listens & occupies his hands with Legos.

Attention is captured!

I wish you could have heard the awe in his voice as he explained & illustrated snake facts to his brother. I thought Bugsy's eyes were going to pop out of his head! Lol!
