A ROOM FOR BUGS

Since Bugs was @3 years old he and  Elvis have shared a bedroom. We recently decided to switch around bedrooms. Since Sweet Pea is now on her own her room is now empty.  (How did she get so grown up so soon?)  Princess moved in with Boo Bear (their choice) and we moved the office into Princess's old room.  That left a room for Princess to have a playroom and for the boys to have their own rooms.  It's been a busy fall trying to get all this moving completed.  The latest project is getting Bugs' room done.  It needed the works.  The carpet ripped out, new flooring, paint and lots of scrubbing.  Here are some before and after pics.  It's not fully complete but it's getting there a little more every weekend.

BEFORE:
This room has been the office/schoolroom since we moved in 7 years ago.

Now it's slowly being converted into a bedroom for Bugs.

The carpet was torn out and the walls were scrubbed down.
The mop boards were removed for painting.

The first coat of paint was completed.
Bugs carefully chose the color.  Mom approved. =)

                                   AFTER:
                           Dave installed the flooring.
The majority of the flooring was a gift from a sweet friend.

Bugs got to see his newly painted, newly floored room and was ECSTATIC!

We hope to start moving his furniture down this weekend.  He probably won't be fully moved in until after Christmas because of our schedule.  He is okay with that and excited for all the hard work and progress.

What's that?  You are wanting pics of the "new" office?  Um.....er....That may have to wait until March.  =P

GARDEN SPOONS

Having some projects to focus on has been helpful.

Boo and I painted these spoons for the garden.
My plan is to use them as plant markers.

 I painted these.

 Boo painted these.

I needed a stress release so I painted 4 more tonight.

We plan to work on more tomorrow.  I'm not an artist but I'm enjoying this project.

BEFORE & AFTER

We have been in this house for 4.5 years. Since we moved in I have wanted to paint the fireplace. I've never liked the white and I've never like the poor painting job of the previous owners. Today was finally the day. Yes, I painted.

The paint job looks much better in the picture.  But believe me it is a minimum, hurried job.  Plus every speck of dirt and dust and every nail hole screams to be seen.

Starting to paint.......

I'm making progress.

The mantle is now cleared, dusted and ready for painting.

Princess does a little happy dance.  She said, "Mommy, you the best!"

The first coat is finished!

 Next project......the cubbies.

Boo got a head start on them while I finished up the first coat on the fireplace & some trim in the living room.

This is another 'before' photo.

Two cubbies with their first coat of paint.

Looking good!

We got into a paint fight while fnishing up cubby #3.  Lol!  See her face?
She retaliated by getting the back of my neck & hair.

Who does she remind you of?

Tomorrow we hope to finish the 2nd coat on the last cubby.  Hopefully they won't need a 3rd.  =)  And we hope to make more progress on the living room trim and mopboards.  Oh, and add the 2nd coat to the fireplace.  Yay!

ART OUTSIDE

Yesterday when we came out of co-op to head home for lunch we saw that it was absolutely beautiful outside. We drove home with the windows open enjoying the fresh air. On the way the kids talked about co-op and especially about their art class. Once we were home and finished lunch I shooed them outside. They asked if they could take their art supplies with them. How could I say no to that? They spent the next hour or more sketching and painting.

Skywalker joined us outside.

Ahhhhh........

The subject.
