Saying Good-bye

It was bittersweet to leave that Sunday after the movers left. Sad because we had to leave loved ones behind & a little exciting because we were finally having our dream of moving to TN come true. The hardest to leave were family. We have lived near my Mom, Dad & brother Tim since Sweet Pea's first birthday. That's over 11 years! Now we were moving over 1,000 miles away. Our kids are also my parents only grand kids. One thing that made it a bit easier is knowing that when they retire they plan to move down closer to us.

It was also very strange to see the house so completely empty. It wasn't even that empty when we moved in as the previous owners left things behind for us to deal with. The basement was amazingly clean much thanks to Mom's hard work. It was home but not really home anymore. A strange & sad feeling.

Good-bye, Home
We have many memories from this home. And I also had to leave Rose Marie's rosebushes behind. That was very hard for me.

There were many tears shed & even the kids were crying. We look forward to their move down here to join us & to (hopefully) many visits from friends & family.

First Day of School, Last Day with Daddy

Today is a mixture of emotions. We are all excited to have our annual "First Day Back to School" with our treasure hunt, big breakfast & walk to school. It is also tradition to have Daddy here for the first day which is why we planned it for this visit. At the same time we are sad b/c Daddy has to go back to TN this afternoon. This time he will be gone longer than usual. It will be 3 weeks until we see him again and then it will only be our usual day and a half visit. I know this is going to be hard as the 2nd week always crawls so I can imagine how week 3 will be. Please keep us in prayer if you think of us.

In the meantime Dave is hiding the backpacks for the Treasure Hunt. To say that the kids are bouncing off the walls in excitement is an understatement. Lol. I'd better get back downstairs and see if they are ready & get my camera. Wouldn't want to miss a single precious moment!
