Planting, Playing & Plugging Along

Spring has arrived! It actually has felt more like summer. But rest assured I am NOT complaining! We are enjoying planting seeds, playing & studying outdoors. The sunshine feels wonderful!

Today I planted some of my outdoor planters. Princess helped to weed this big one.

What is that?

Big sister & little sister work side-by-side.

Bugsy drew his wish for his seeds.

My little helper.

My spring surprise flowers, a pot of Sweet Basil & a pot of Parsley.

Sky(Walker) enjoys the sunshine too.

Sweet Pea continues to study hard.

The boys are deep in negotiations.

My pots of Cilantro, Sweet Basil & Chives.

Pretty. I love that it returns every year.

They boys planted sunflower seeds in their pots.

My Parsley has returned!

Bugs was learning spelling & doing handwriting without even realizing it. And by his own choice too!

What a beautiful day to be working & learning outside.

What A Find!

Look what we found/we given! Someone in our neighborhood put these on their curb with a giant cardboard sign that read, "FREE IRIS". We were driving home from TKD Tuesday when I spotted the sign down a passing street. I immediately went and opened up my trunk! I've really missed all my flowers and gardens I had to leave behind in MA. How thrilled I was to find/be given these! Boo & Elvis put them in these containers with water until we can plant them. I hope to plant them tomorrow night or the weekend at the latest. Hooray!

My Girl!

My hardworking 16 year old!

Spring Surprise

I was under the impression that these were annuals. So when the cold freeze hit last winter I concluded they were gone. Suddenly with this warm weather they are back again! What a beautiful, spring surprise! They make me smile every time I go into my backyard. Thank you, Lord!

Big Brother, Little Brother

Elvis asked me if he could read their Zoology lesson to Bugsy. Who am I to say no? There are SO many benefits to this including giving Mama some time. Hooray to Apologia for making science so interesting & easy to read! And hooray to Elvis my science guy for sharing his love of God's Creation!

Elvis reads aloud as Bugsy listens & occupies his hands with Legos.

Attention is captured!

I wish you could have heard the awe in his voice as he explained & illustrated snake facts to his brother. I thought Bugsy's eyes were going to pop out of his head! Lol!
